Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Michael Harkins

In a season cut short, Michael led the team with a .483 batting average, a .579 on-base percentage, 9 runs scored, 8 walks, 14 hits, 2 triples, and 13 stolen bases. He also led the team in wins and strikeouts, with 2 and 16 respectively, in a recorded 16 innings pitched. Michael was a leader both on and off the field who worked to make himself better everyday and inspired his teammates to do the same.

Sophia Fan

This was Sophia’s first year participating in softball. Sofia came in to this season knowing very little about the sport, playing with girls she just met, in a country completely new to her. She picked up fundamental skills very quickly because of her intelligence, desire to learn, and coachability. Sofia applied those skills to record a few hits and 2 stolen bases. The coaching staff and entire team is so proud of her and what she accomplished in such a short amount of time.

Mitchel Simon

Mitchel led the team with an .821 slugging percentage, 2 home runs, 6 doubles, 10 RBIs and 21 assists. He also recorded a .393 batting average on the season, a .500 on-base percentage, 6 runs scored, 6 walks, 11 hits, and 6 stolen bases. Mitchel recorded just over 5 innings pitched resulting in a 1.40 ERA and 6 strikeouts. Mitchel’s leadership was evident in his love for the game and work ethic. He competed at a high level, but worked at an even high level during practice and training.
