Athletes of the Month: January

Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Caylan Medley

“Caylan has stepped on the field this year ready to work. She comes to practice ready and excited to improve every single day. This season she has brought a contagious positive attitude to the culture of our team. On the field in our first 12 games, Caylan has tallied 29 saves and 4 shut outs. She was named the Defensive MVP in our Linfield Tournament. As I mentioned, her positive attitude combined with her work ethic and natural athletic talent has made Caylan a necessary member to our team this season and it is a joy to have her in our program.”

– Coach Brown

Mike McNair

“Mike has been an integral part of the boys varsity basketball program this year. In his high school rookie season, he leads the team in total points scored (230) to date and averages 16 points and 5 rebounds per game. He was also named to the Caged Classic All-Tournament team. Mike is incredibly dedicated to the game, seeking to improve each and every time he steps on the floor. His future is extremely bright we are excited to see his growth in the years to come.” – Coach Waheed

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Brooklyn Simon

Brooklyn has been a key player for the MS softball program this season. She is a well rounded athlete, filling different roles as needed depending on the day. Recently in the game against United Christian, she went 4/4 including a home run and defensively had a great day as a catcher.

Christian Harris

Christian is a great addition to the Lions baseball program this year. He has found success offensively as a cleanup hitter and has continued to improve each day with his hard work and dedication at practice.
