Athletes of the Month: November

Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Ryley Burns

Ryley has continued her dominance into her sophomore year by leading the #7 state ranked Lions to another undefeated Ambassador League Championship. For the second consecutive year she earned the “All League MVP” honors and headed into postseason, she is ranked #3 in the state for Division 5. She leads the team by example with her hard work ethic alongside her calm and confidence demeanor.

Scudder Sinclair

Scudder starts his junior year campaign ranked #36th in the state for Division 5 and plays a big role in the #9 state ranked Lions success. Scudder will earn All League honors as the boys squad pushes towards making Linfield history by qualifying for the state meet for the first time as a team. Scudder brings a “bulldog” mentality to every practice and meet which elevates the expectations and performances of his teammates; key in this year’s success.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Annie Huang

Annie has really matured as a leader, leading by example. She is a captain, often caught cheering for her teammates, bringing them homemade refreshments and has a servant’s heart. She is a hard worker and never quibbles with what it takes to be strong and ready for competition.

Kasen Mandville

Kasen has grown so much this season. He is seizing every opportunity to work hard and has pushed himself to achieve the goals he laid out. He is consistent and shows up for optional practices and puts in the work. He is kind to others and has amazing self control through some of the tough parts of conditioning. He will be a very strong runner in the years to come.

Braylen Munson-McDowell

Braylen has been a part of the tackle football program since 6th grade and serves a team captain this year. He leads the team in tackles, rushing touchdowns, and receptions. Off the field, Braylen has a 3.7 GPA and excels in drama, and is very involved in other school activities.

Kylie Watson

Kylie has been a huge contributor to the JV volleyball team this season. Her serves are tough and earned many points for the Lions. Kylie’s overall play and presence on the court helped lead the team to a championship title!

Daisy Gale

“Daisy Gale has taken the traits that make her a phenomenal basketball player and applied them this season to volleyball. This was Daisy’s first year of competitive volleyball, yet her plays at the net as our Middle would lead you to think she’s been playing club for awhile. She anticipates and instinctively knows where the ball will fall and gets there quickly. She is our leading blocker and one of our top hitters. Daisy works hard and is a committed athlete. Each time she steps onto the court, she is ready to play and gives 100 percent. She has met the challenge of learning her position and player rotations head on. She is a supportive and reliable teammate and leader. One of my favorites is a picture of Daisy on Linfield Athletics social media, showing her setting the ball. The determined look on her face, her proper setting form speaks volumes of this girl’s commitment to the sport. Daisy, do all that you do to the glory of God.” – Coach Joy Daludado
