Athletes of the Month: February

Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Dani Williams

Dani Williams has had a phenomenal season so far this year. With 18 goals and 14 assists in 18 games played, she has made her mark in our program this year. Not only has she grown as a soccer player but she has confidently stepped into being a leader. She is passionate and competitive and is continuing to learn how these two can still be held while reflecting Christ in her play on the soccer field. Her drive and leadership has brought the best out in her teammates and we are proud of the young woman she is growing into.

Donovan Cox

Donovan is a pleasure to coach for multiple reasons. He is an extension of the coach on the floor as the point guard, making sure everyone is on the same page. Donovan never has to be coached when it comes to effort. He is a hard worker, team player, and a leader both on and off the court. He is just scratching the surface of his potential and we are excited to see him continue to develop and contribute to the Linfield boys basketball program.

Spencer Lewis

Spencer has already made history this season! This past month, he broke the school record for single season goals. So far he has scored 33 goals in only 16 games! Last week he also became the leading scorer among high school sophomores in the entire nation. Spencer has made a massive difference for the Lions this year. Spencer and the rest of the boys soccer team are looking to make a mark in CIF this postseason!

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Kayla Crowell

This is Kayla’s second year on the basketball team and she has proven to be a versatile player taking on all positions with ease. Kayla’s attitude is upbeat and an inspiration to her teammates. She is a team player and is willing to do whatever the coaches ask her to do.

Luke Bohmer

Luke has done a great job this year as the varsity basketball point guard. Not only does he make plays offensively, but he is an outstanding defender. Recently, in the game against Rancho Christian, Luke stole the ball in the final seconds and made a break away layup to ultimately give the Lions the victory!

Olivia Leighton

From spiking the volleyball to shooting baskets, Olivia has figured out how to use her height to her advantage. Olivia is the team captain this year and has shown great leadership to the younger players. She will make a great addition to the varsity team next year, and to the Lady Lions basketball program in years to come.

Xander Lohrey

Xander is easily the most improved basketball player in the middle school program this season. He works hard every practice to improve his skills, but equally as important, he is very attentive to the feedback coaches give him, and puts it into practice. His coachability at such a young age will serve him well in years to come!
