Tyler plays great defense for the Lions in centerfield. He has great baseball instincts and is committed to improving and being a leader on and off the field of play. His baserunning is a huge part of the team's success so far. His stats last month included a .391 batting average, with 14 hits, two doubles, two triples, nine runs, 10 stolen bases, and three RBIs.
Payton Howie has been an offensive phenom for the Lady Lions this season. She is currently batting a .375 with 18 RBIs. Payton recently attended a singing competition in Nashville and in her first game back hit a grand slam that helped her team secure the win. Defensively, she has a .375 caught stealing percentage and 109 put outs. Payton shows up to practice every day ready to work hard and improve, encouraging her teammates to do the same.
Tyler's drive and perseverance on the field is unmatched. As a leader and captain of our close defensive unit, Tyler strives every day to make himself, his squad, and the team into better lacrosse players. Players can count on his wisdom and knowledge of the sport to better enhance team cohesion. Tyler is a force to be reckoned with, averaging 8 defensive turnovers, 6 ground balls, and 5 successful clears per game to place the team in optimal situations. Off the field, Tyler's humility and dedication to his team, his school, and his community will without a doubt serve him greatly in the years to come.
"Dani has been a key player to the girls varsity program for the past two seasons both offensively and defensively. She is not afraid to play any position and always steps up to the task ahead of her with a desire to win and work hard for her teammates. In the Lady Lions first two games, Dani tallied 5 goals and 2 assists with many more to come. She is a joy to coach and I can't wait to see what this season has in store for her."
Spencer works hard and is successful in the classroom and on the soccer field. In the season opener against Rancho Christian, Spencer led the team to a 12-1 victory, with 7 goals and 3 assists. During practice he works extremely hard to continue to develop as a soccer player and a leader. He attributes his talents to God and often leads the team in prayer. Spencer also works hard in the classroom, earning all A+'s during the first semester. He exemplifies a Linfield Christian student-athlete in all ways!
Ashlyn Edison has never played soccer before, but in watching her on the field, one wouldn't know it. She scored the Lady Lions' first goal of the season against Temecula Charter. She is extremely dedicated during practice, works hard, and has a positive attitude. She learns from her mistakes and seeks to correct them almost instantly to help improve her play on the field.
Logan has been both a leader during games and off the field. He offers encouragement and support for his teammates, while simultaneously pushing himself to improve. Logan plays centerback and is a fundamental part of our defense. The physicality and intensity that he brings to the field is unparalleled. It has been a pleasure to have Logan on the team and we look forward to working with him for the rest of the season.
