Athletes of the Month: November

Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Ryley Burns

Freshman Ryley Burns has helped elevate the girls XC program to Ambassador League dominance. Having a strong front runner is so important for the rest of the team because she sets an example of what hard work and fast running looks like. She has natural race instincts and the unique ability to push herself really hard while running effortlessly. As a freshman juggling club soccer and cross country, she is way beyond her years of demonstrating discipline and time management. Ryley has a tremendous future in both sports!

Kaleb Maresh

Kaleb Maresh has emerged as one of the top QBs in the Ambassador League with 1651 passing yards, 23 passing TDs, and 11 rushing TDs. He is the leader of the Linfield offense that is currently ranked number one in Southern Section in points scored (548). He is a leader and a great teammate, who wants to compete and takes this game seriously. He is also academically strong which has allowed him opportunities to play in college.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ethan Chong

Ethan had no prior running experience as an incoming 6th grader and was diligent in his pursuit of progress and coachable throughout our season. He has dropped his times over 4 minutes and is running at an advanced level in XC. He will be a serious contender for many if he continues! He is kind, considerate, and respectful each practice and makes coaching a true joy!

Annie Huang

Annie has displayed dedication and a consistent effort in MS XC since the first practice. She has showed up prepared and is able to push herself each practice and she is a good example of the quote “practice makes perfect.” Her times reflect this as she started the season with a time in the high 19’s for two miles and finished her last meet at 14:04! She is steady and cool headed in her approach to the difficult and sometimes painful parts of running! The coaches expect great things from Annie if she continues running!

Madeline Gawecki

Maddy is one of 3 setters on our team. She leads the team in assists. This girl gives 100% whenever she’s on the court, at practice or during a match. Not only does she work hard, she plays smart. She is disciplined in learning the game and attaining her volleyball goals. In addition to setting, she has improved so much in covering the net and serving. Maddy listens and simply does it. She is a natural leader, respectful player, and a great teammate. She has been a joy to coach.

Jalee Nash

Jalee is a hard working player who always demonstrates kindness, encouragement and has been a true leader to the team both on and off the court. Jalee helped lead her team to the Championship game by playing both Outside Hitter and Middle. She loves Christ and is always willing to do whatever is asked. Jalee made the season fun for us all this year.
