Athletes of the Month: October

Every month the athletic department will recognize 1 boy and 1 girl from both the High School and 1 Athlete per sport, per month at the Middle School campus for outstanding athletic achievement and character qualities. These candidates are nominated by their coaches.

HIGH SCHOOL

Amber Bermudez

“Amber has improved greatly and has emerged as one of the leaders on the team this year. She works hard at practice every day and it’s showing in her results. Amber is 6-3 in league and was a big contributor in our first two league victories. It’s been an honor to coach her for the last three years.” -Coach Ivey

Scudder Sinclair

Scudder has quickly become a force on the boys varsity XC squad. Leading not only with his legs (consistently top 3), but also encouraging teammates to keep pushing themselves and get the best out of each workout and race. He is a very natural and talented runner that has the unique ability to push through any workout or race despite how he is feeling and it rubs off on his teammates. In his first year as a runner, he has shown a lot of promise and we can’t wait to see how far his running takes him.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Kaylyn Bielatowicz

Kaylyn is a returning varsity player who is not only an awesome libero for the Lions, but is an outstanding role model to her peers. Kaylyn is always positive, kind, and encouraging, and continues to play a significant role in the success of the middle school volleyball program. Her academic focus and achievement is outstanding and her love for Christ is demonstrated in every interaction.

Morgan Fox

Morgan leads by serving her team. She is committed to helping and encouraging others especially with teammates who are learning to play volleyball for the first time. She takes Philippians 2:3-4 to heart and values her teammates above herself. She is respectful and a joy to coach. As a player, she excels in serving, passing, and hitting. Defensively, she hustles hard after the ball. Unforgettable team memory would have to be when Morgan served the team out of a 23-9 deficit to win the game 25-23!

Logan Pledger

Logan has been a servant leader to the team, always encouraging others, and demonstrates his personal best at practice. He asks what more he can do to be ready and use his gift of running to his full potential and uses every bit of practice time he can. Logan placed second out of 186 middle school boys at the first league meet. He was within two seconds of first place! His hard work will pay off for him as he continues to represent Linfield as a true Lion!

Caylyn Russell

Caylyn is the first one to practice nearly every day and shows up ready to work! She is always asking what more she can do and is hungry for more skill building. Caylyn is kind and respectful towards the coaches and her team. She has amazing times and is starting XC with exceptional times! The coaches enjoy having her on the team and know that this is just the beginning for her.
