Coach Rick Slick enters his third season at the helm of the Lions’ tennis program for both the high school and middle school. Prior to serving at Linfield, Coach Slick taught tennis at the city of Fullerton and Los Caballeros Sports Village in Fountain Valley and was the head pro at Capistrano Tennis Club in San Juan Capistrano. In addition, he has run many successful tennis programs for various city recreation and private clubs in and around Southern California. Throughout his coaching career, Coach Slick has had the opportunity to work with many world class pros.
As a player, Coach Slick played tennis at both Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton. He competed up to a 6.0 level and still competes in men’s doubles at the 4.5 USTA level. Coach Slick won many singles and doubles tournaments, most notably the 1991 and 1992 Adoption Guild Choc Charity Doubles tournaments in Orange County at the 5.5 level.
In addition to coaching tennis, Coach Slick owns his own advertising agency.
