Coach Jim McGrath began coaching with the Linfield softball program in 2014. Prior to joining the Lions, he coached baseball at Heritage High from 2008-2011, and softball at Calvary Chapel Murrieta from 2012-2013. Coach McGrath played baseball at George Fox College, finishing his collegiate career at Biola University and continued to play in the Rookie Ball League for the OC A’s. As a coach, he challenges athletes to push themselves not to be ordinary, but to be extraordinary. Coach McGrath works in construction management. He has been married for thirty years to his wife Christine and together they have four children; Jimmy, Catherine, Christen, and Kiki (class of 2019).
