Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach

After completing his college playing career, Coach David Cruz started baseball instruction at RBI Batting Cages in Rowland Heights, CA; under former Seattle Mariner Mike Brock as hitting coach and pitching instructor from 2004-2006. Cruz has over 8 years of high school baseball coaching experience beginning in 2006 as Freshman Head/JV Assistant Varsity coach at Sultana High School in Hesperia, CA under Coach David Hill. Coach Cruz then became assistant recruiting and volunteer hitting coach for Saint Katherine University in 2012 under Coach Mike Scolinos. Coach Cruz was part of the Spring Training Academy program under Coach David Dexheimer as hitting and pitching instructor as well as Head American Legion Summer ball Heat in 2013. He was hired as the varsity assistant hitting instructor/coach with Heritage High School in 2014 under Coach Scott Montgomery. Coach Cruz was later hired as assistant hitting coach and pitching instructor with Murrieta Mesa High school under DIV 2 CIF-SS Championship and BCOY Coach Bryn Wade in 2016.  Coach Cruz was part of Nike Phenom HS/College Placement travel youth programs in Menifee and Surprise Arizona under Coach Buck Thomas. In Arizona, Coach Cruz was named Interim Varsity Head Coach at Willow Canyon High School in 2017. He then returned to California where he most recently served as the assistant coach for Linfield Christian in 2018. Cruz continues to work with student athletes that are in pursuit of playing college and professional sports. He cofounded the system baseball/softball programs use to educate athletes on the recruiting process with Professional Hitting instructor Rudy Rodriguez utilizing Rudy Jaramillo 5 steps hitting system model and routine

His playing days began as a freshman on Hesperia Christian Varsity 91′ and graduated from Hesperia High school 94. Coach Cruz competed as IF/OF/LHP at Victor Valley College and led the VVC Rams to a playoff run his sophomore year and earning academic scholarship to complete his playing career at Cal Lutheran University, under NCAA HOF coach Martin Slimak. Coach Cruz has passion and love for the Creator, his family, and strives to develop resilient men of God, through a baseball program. He works as the Behavior Health Specialist for Linfield Christian School and is married to his wife Patricia. Together they have four children; Marieli (18), Zion (12), Kingston (7), Kendrick (4).
