Coach Sarah Williams joins the Linfield Lion family for the 2023-2024 season.  Coach Williams grew up in SoCal and attended Calvary Chapel Murrieta for high school. At Calvary, she was a three-sport athlete, competing in cross country, basketball and track & field. She was a four year varsity player for the Warriors, playing mainly guard and point guard.  In track & field, she was a sprinter and was a Big Sky League Champion four years in a row.  After high school, Coach Williams turned down multiple collegiate athletic opportunities when she felt the Lord calling her into missions.  It was then during college that she started her coaching career back at her alma mater.  She spent five years coaching a number of teams and levels including HS girls basketball as an assistant coach.  Then she entered the mission field.  Coach Williams’ love for basketball never wavered as she continued playing basketball and did some coaching on the mission field.

Coach Williams is excited about the opportunity to lead the Lady Lions.  Her coaching philosophy had been formed by the verse Philippians 3:14 which states, “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” In her words, “I believe it is an honor and privilege to coach and play sports. It is hard work, discipline, endurance, unification, and teamwork that creates a successful team as well as recognizing everyone’s God given talent and nurturing, supporting and encouraging everyone to do their best for the glory of God. We have already received victory in and through Christ, may our lives be a reflection of that both on and off the court.”
