Coach Angela Hernandez began coaching soccer at Linfield in 2016, in more ways than one. Prior to becoming the varsity head coach in 2017, she served as the high school varsity assistant and middle school varsity head coach. She led the Lions to back to back CIF-SS Championship game appearances, earning the Championship title in 2020 and Runner-Up in 2021, and went on to win the CIF State Regional Championship title in 2021.
Coach Hernandez has played the game for twenty years, including four years at Linfield Christian High School. Her time as a Lion allowed her the opportunity to play soccer at Westmont College on an athletic scholarship. She coaches athletes to be the best version of themselves because no one else on the team can do it for them. Coach Hernandez also serves as the MS/HS girls PE teacher at Linfield.
She comes from an incredible family that loves Linfield. Her father previously served as a board member and both her brothers are also Linfield alum; Jordan (class of 2010) and Michael (class of 2016). Coach Hernandez is married to her husband Carlos Hernandez who also teaches and coaches at Linfield Christian.
